Santa Monica and Westside businesses can get working capital in as little as 24 hours, a line of credit in about two days, and SBA loans through preferred lenders in 45 to 90 days. PMF LA is a Century City broker about 15 minutes away, placing $10K to $20M for companies with 6+ months open and 500+ credit.

Business funding in Santa Monica and the Westside: what owners here borrow for
The Westside runs on three economies that rarely overlap: beach-town retail and hospitality, Silicon Beach tech and agencies, and a dense medical corridor. Rents are among the highest in the county, which makes cash-flow gaps hurt more here than almost anywhere.
- Third Street Promenade, Main Street and Montana Avenue. The Promenade and Santa Monica Place draw tourists and downtown workers; Main Street and Abbot Kinney in Venice draw locals and weekend visitors; Montana Avenue is boutiques, salons and cafes for the neighborhood. All three carry high rents and swing with the seasons. Owners borrow for build-outs, holiday and summer inventory, and the slow weeks after New Year. Working capital arranged in the fall and a line of credit for the rest of the year.
- Silicon Beach agencies and startups. Santa Monica, Venice and Playa Vista hold a large share of LA’s tech companies, digital agencies, production and creative studios. Agencies bill on net-30 to net-60 and pay staff every two weeks. Startups between rounds need bridge capital without giving up equity. A line of credit or factoring against agency invoices; working capital for the bridge.
- Medical practices near Wilshire and Saint John’s. The corridor around Providence Saint John’s Health Center and UCLA’s Santa Monica hospital, and the medical buildings along Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevard, hold hundreds of physician, dental, dermatology, fertility, physical therapy and aesthetic practices. Reimbursements lag 30 to 90 days. Equipment financing for lasers, imaging and chairs; SBA 7(a) for practice purchases and buy-ins.
- Hospitality and tourism seasonality. Hotels, tour operators, bike and surf rentals, beach concessions and the restaurants along Ocean Avenue and the Pier peak from June through August and around the holidays, then drop. Marina del Rey adds boat charters, yacht services and waterfront dining with the same summer curve. Working capital timed before the peak and lines for the trough.
- Culver City and Playa Vista. Downtown Culver City’s restaurant row and the studio and streaming campuses nearby support a growing set of restaurants, fitness studios, production vendors and professional firms. Playa Vista’s campus tenants bring a lunch and services economy. Working capital, equipment and lines.
- Brentwood and Pacific Palisades. San Vicente Boulevard and Brentwood Village carry professional offices, restaurants and personal services. Pacific Palisades businesses have been rebuilding since the January 2025 fire; owners there borrow for reopening costs, equipment and the gap while insurance and public aid arrive. We structure around those timelines.
Contractors, landscapers and design-build firms serving the Westside’s constant remodel market, plus the auto and body shops along Lincoln and Pico, round out the files we see most.

How it works from Santa Monica and the Westside
Our office is at 10100 Santa Monica Blvd, Suite 100, in Century City, a few miles east on the same boulevard. From downtown Santa Monica that is about 15 minutes without traffic; from Culver City or Playa Vista about the same. This is the one part of LA where meeting in person is easy, and some Westside owners prefer it. Most still handle everything by phone, email and electronic signature.
- Three questions at /apply: amount, time in business, monthly revenue. No documents, no credit pull.
- A specialist calls the same business day. We ask what the money is for, when you need it, your seasonality and your largest client’s payment terms.
- Send statements. Three to four months of business bank statements as PDFs, ID and a voided check. Tax returns for larger or SBA files; a quote for equipment.
- Compare offers. Side by side with total cost, term and payment. Every California offer arrives with the state’s required commercial-financing disclosure showing total cost and payment terms before you sign.
- Sign and fund. Same day to 3 days for working capital; 2 to 7 days for equipment; 45 to 90 days for SBA.
Want to come in? Call (213) 349-8151 and we will set a time. Validated parking is in the building garage across from Westfield Century City.
Who qualifies on the Westside
The floors are the same across our panel: 6+ months in business, $15K or more a month in deposits, a 500+ credit score and a business checking account with three months of statements. Meeting them means most funders will look at the file. It is not an approval.
Westside files skew larger and cleaner than average. Medical practices, agencies and professional firms above roughly $250K should expect to send a tax return and take a call with the funder; above $1M, two years of returns, a debt schedule and a personal financial statement, on a two-to-five-day timeline. SBA and real estate files need 680+ credit and two years of history. Beach-town restaurants and retail qualify on deposits and daily balances, and seasonal files are read on the trend, not the last month.
What does not disqualify you: a bank decline, a loss year during a build-out, an existing equipment loan, or a 550 score with steady deposits. What does: an open bankruptcy, fewer than 6 months of statements, or a stack of daily-payment advances beyond what deposits can carry. Our 500 to 600 credit programs page explains what improves a file in 60 days.
Public programs on the Westside to check first
If you qualify for a public or nonprofit program and can wait, take it. Westside owners should look at these first.
- City of Santa Monica Economic Development. Business assistance, and at various times small-business grant and loan programs, often tied to downtown, the Pier or recovery efforts. Check what is open now.
- City of Culver City Economic Development. Business support and periodic assistance programs for Culver City companies.
- City of Los Angeles EWDD BusinessSource Centers. Venice, Mar Vista, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Playa Vista and Marina del Rey’s LA City portions are covered by the city’s free coaching and microloan access.
- LA Regional SBDC Network for free advising and loan packaging, and CDC Small Business Finance for SBA 504 property purchases.
- Fire recovery resources. Pacific Palisades businesses should check current SBA disaster assistance and LA County and city recovery programs before taking on commercial funding.
Expect 30 to 120 days and bank-style paperwork. Many owners pair a public loan with a short bridge from us while it closes. The full list is on our Los Angeles business funding hub.
How Santa Monica and Westside deals get structured
Twelve-person agency billing on net-45 needed a payroll cushion. Approved in one day on six months of statements, no collateral. Draws repay weekly over 12 weeks. Owner draws $30K to $40K twice a quarter and repays when client checks land.
Practice adding two laser platforms and an exam room ahead of a new associate. Six-year equipment financing on statements and one tax return, funded in five business days with the vendor paid directly. Kept the practice’s bank line free for payroll.
Owner needed a parklet rebuild and cash for the January slowdown after a strong summer. Nine-month term, weekly payments sized against summer-weighted deposits, funded in two business days. Paid off early after the following summer.
Examples are illustrative of how PMF LA structures placements; amounts, terms and approval depend on the funder and your file. Not an offer of credit.
Frequently asked questions
Can a Santa Monica restaurant with seasonal sales get working capital?
Yes. Funders on our panel read seasonal files on the trend, not just the last month, and we know which ones do it well. Arranging in the fall on summer-weighted statements gives the best result. If you are already in the slow stretch, a sales-percentage structure or a line of credit can keep the payment in line with revenue.
How far is your office from Santa Monica?
About 15 minutes without traffic. We are at 10100 Santa Monica Blvd, Suite 100, in Century City, a few miles east on the same boulevard. Westside clients are welcome to come in, and validated parking is in the building garage. Most still handle everything by phone and e-sign.
Is PMF LA a lender?
No. PMF LA is a commercial finance broker. We arrange funding through 20+ funding partners, show you every offer side by side, and are paid by the funder. Any fee to you is disclosed in writing before you sign.
Can a Silicon Beach startup get funding without giving up equity?
Often, yes, if it has 6+ months of business bank statements with $15K or more in monthly deposits. Working capital term loans and lines of credit are approved on deposits and time in business, not on a pitch deck. Pre-revenue companies are harder; ask us and we will tell you honestly.
Do you serve Venice, Mar Vista, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Culver City, Playa Vista and Marina del Rey?
Yes. All of the Westside is regular territory, and it is the closest part of LA to our office. For Pacific Palisades businesses rebuilding after the fire, we structure around insurance and public-aid timelines and will point you to disaster resources first.
How fast can a Westside business get funded?
Same day is realistic for working capital under about $250K when statements arrive by late morning and you sign before the funder’s afternoon cutoff. Most files fund in 1 to 3 business days; equipment in 2 to 7 days; SBA in 45 to 90 days.
Will checking my options affect my credit?
No. The three-question check and the first call are soft inquiries. A hard pull happens only after you choose an offer and give written permission, and only from that funder.
